My name is Emily. I was born and raised on Vancouver Island with a deep love for the west coast. I enjoy music, art and writing.

I have been playing piano for twenty-one years and counting. In past I have played piano for various theatrical productions and accompanied the BC Fiddle Orchestra. I have two and a half years of experience teaching students at Sitka Music School.

I love to draw, so I have designed some unique resources to add to the standard teaching materials with the goal of making lessons more engaging and fun!

I primarily teach young students, however I have taught both children and adults alike. It is so satisfying to see a new concept click, or to have a student arrive eager to show me what they have practised. It gives me so much joy to see a student master a piece that they previously struggled with, and realize that they are capable of more than they thought! Music is a gift, it can help us through tough times, it can soothe, uplift and inspire. This gift is something I am eager to share with my students.
